I've Never Even Heard of This One...

(Apologies for how skinny the result is; unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it.)

Which Classic Novel do You Belong In?

Your belonging in The Mysteries of Udolpho is quite evident; a world of intrigue, melancholy, sublimity and terror. You belong where there are danger, gloomy edifices, and evil Italian guardians. Your passion for the passion of the Mediterranean, the divine contemplation of nature, and for adventure stories, makes you a prime contender for a spot in a gothic romance.

Logistical Issues

We've gotten to the outlining section in the 2YN class. Ever since we began, I've been itching to get started on the actual writing... but now that we're almost there, I want to go back to the safe waters of worldbuilding. I feel like I'm not ready... but the problem is, I'll never feel ready. I'm just afraid of screwing this story up, since I've worked so hard on the background for it - and now, in the outlining phase, is when the screwups can start to happen. But better to have a flawed story than an unwritten one, and this one won't get written unless I get the outline done, and the outline won't get done unless I get it started.

So I started on my outline today, and I've come across my first snag. I'm having transportation issues. The best transportation these particular people have is their own feet, and in this instance, well, that's just not going to cut it. Not for what they need to be doing.

Ah! I think I may have found the answer. This is why writing this stuff out is good.

This I Sweat

Trying to come up with a line for one of my characters, I typed as far as, "I swear by the..." before I realized that I had typed "sweat" in place of "swear." Much less impressive.

Ten Elements

From Tambo, ten elements/words that I associate with my writing:

1. Tragedy
2. Destiny
3. Isolation
4. Spirituality
5. Angst
6. Shades of gray
7. Love
8. Magic
9. Oppression
10. Bittersweet endings
